5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW TO PREVENT A CORONA VIRUS (COVID 19) AND A CORONARY

5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW TO PREVENT A CORONA VIRUS (COVID 19) AND A CORONARY

5 Things you Must Do to Prevent CORONA INFECTION and
a CORONARY!

It is very important to take proper hygiene measures such as washing hands, keeping our distance, and keeping hands away from face. Most people who obtain a virus will recover.
Heart disease is a disease that likes to progress and more importantly it is a preventable disease.
The biggest thing to understand is that arteries are a muscle not a pipe. The majority of people who have coronary attacks have normal cholesterol. The majority of coronary attacks occur with blockages that are less than 50%. Just like a pimple on your face. If that pimple pops inside the artery that is a heart attack.

Here are 5 things to prevent a corona infection and a coronary!

#1 Increase Vegetable and Fruit intake. We all know this is very important. In this case, it is to improve immune function and to improve artery function. Arteries are a muscle NOT a pipe. You may want to consider a smoothie or soup to increase your vegetable consumption. This is where supplementation may be important to obtain vital antioxidants. A compromised immune system can leave you susceptible to viruses and heart disease.

#2 No Carbohydrates and Sugar. Stop hoarding pasta, bread, rice, and sugar. These simple carbohydrates will damage arteries and raise cholesterol. Remember, arteries are a muscle NOT a pipe. Think of the inside of your arteries as skin called the endothelium. What can hurt this skin or endothelium? – carbohydrates and sugar. Carbohydrates and sugar will also compromise your immune system.

#3. Sleep. Shortened sleep can increase inflammatory markers that can damage the artery wall.  The best ways we can improve our immunity and defend against viruses and disease is getting adequate sleep. Sleep is a natural immune booster. Focus on routine and obtaining 7-8 hours a night. Keep a dark room and noise levels low.

#4. Don’t Watch the News. It is very important to be informed and know important things regarding the latest news, but not hour of every day. Watching the news can lead to fear, anxiety and depression. Now more than ever is a time to focus on your mental health. Especially, those people who are being quarantined or are in self-isolation can feel disconnected and alone. This can affect our mood which, in turn, can result in poor artery health and immune function. Focus on the positive and positive things arrive. This is a time to have gratitude and we can come out strong. Fill your day with as much positivity as you can.

#5. Get active.  Exercise is medicine. Exercise improves our mood, heals this inside of our arteries and improve our immune system to fight viruses. Yes, gyms may be closed but mother nature does not close outside. You can be active inside or outside. If you have your exercise routine do your best to continue this. Take this time to develop an active routine. It can be as simple as going for a walk, to hiking in the outdoors. Strengthen your heart and immunity.

#6 BONUS Step: Be proactive, get tested. Once it is available get tested for Corona Virus, know your risk. Heart disease and stroke is also preventable. Get to a Heart Fit Clinic and understand your cardiovascular disease risk.
